Hariharan Vishwanath

MEC India today announced the appointment of Hariharan Vishwanath (Vishy) as National Trading Director for MEC India. Prior to this he was General Manager, Maxus Bangalore. In his new role, Vishy will report to both T. Gangadhar, Managing Director, MEC India and Prasanth Kumar, GroupM India’s Head of Trading.

"Given the present business environment, the importance of trading cannot be emphasized enough,” advised Gangadhar. “Trading has been identified as one of the greatest variables for us to turn to our advantage and create real, tangible value to our clients. As MEC's Trading Head, Vishy will be responsible for exploiting the GroupM leverage to its fullest extent on behalf of our client partners.”

In his 15 years working in the communications industry, Vishy has gained a rich skillset across planning, buying and management roles. “I believe that I will be able to bring my rounded experience to bear in this position,” said Vishy. “Trading for MEC must reflect the company’s integrated approach to delivering client solutions that are tailored to each client, not just a one-size-fits-all deal”.

MEC India is ranked 5th in billings (source: RECMA 2008 projected) and is one of the fastest growing agencies in the past 4 years. With 5 national offices employing over 125 people, MEC’s clients include: LG Electronics, Nivea India, HDFC Standard Life Insurance, Citi, DHL, Henkel, Sony Ericsson, Singapore Tourism Board, Cavinkare, Singapore Airlines, Honda Motors & Scooters, Jaypee Cements and Pidilite among others.
