MEC works with Macy’s Fall Hunger Relief program
09 September 2009
MEC, a leading media agency, is helping Macy's fight hunger through an innovative program that connects the eat-at-home trend with hunger relief. "Come Together" launches in September with a celebrity studded Fall campaign, featuring Jessica Simpson, Martha Stewart, Queen Latifah and other celebrities. The program encourages consumers to host a dinner party and forgo the usual host gift. Instead guests are asked to make a donation to Feeding America. Macy's will match all contributions made by hosts and their guests to help donate 10 million meals.
MEC negotiated and executed all media elements of the program. The fully integrated plan includes rich media executions online, engagement-led promotions and quizzes on Facebook, social outreach and events all focused on driving traffic to the microsite www.macys.com/cometogether . On September 15th, Macy's will host the "World's Largest Dinner Party" event at its 650 stores, cross country.
