MEC was awarded the title after a stellar performance in 2009 which saw the agency win new clients including Lloyds Banking Group and Danone as well as maintaining a 100% client retention rate. In making its decision, Marketing also referenced MEC's strategic and commercial excellence which delivered groundbreaking work for Morrisons, Nintendo and Orange.

This latest accolade tops an outstanding 18 months for MEC in which the agency has already been named Agency of the Year by both Media Week and Campaign, won the IPA Effectiveness Grand Prix and been awarded Hollis Sponsorship Agency of the Year for MEC Access.

Tom George, Chief Executive, MEC, said: "Last year when Marketing named us Agency of the Year for the second year it was down to the outstanding results we deliver for our clients, and I'm delighted that we've continued that throughout 2009. We are absolutely overwhelmed to have won Agency of the Year for the third year running, and this award recognises everything that we have done as an agency not just over the past year but the past three years. It has been an incredible journey for MEC and the recognition is fully deserved by every single person at the agency."
