MEC News » MEC launches Caltex App
Beyond their core media planning and buying skills, MEC Singapore offers genuine integrated thinking to all their clients. This joined up thinking is made possible with the full integration of a highly specialised team of digital experts delivering technologically innovative and relevant work across the earned and owned space, particularly mobile.
MEC Interaction Singapore has created and launched The Caltex Station Locator for Android, available from February 8th. In addition to the pre-existing iPhone application, the app will be made available to Symbian and Windows Mobile. The Blackberry OS app will be made available soon, making Caltex one of the few brands that has a mobile application across all major smartphones.
The app is available to customers in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines and Thailand (with South Africa and Pakistan to follow).
The Caltex Station Locator allows you to find the closest station to you with the choice of different fuel types, ATMs, snow wash, convenience stores and car maintenance services. It is also linked to Google Maps to help you find your way to the station of your choice.
"This is another example of MEC diversifying across specialist services, from distribution to content creation. We believe that a complete communication mix of paid, owned and earned media is more relevant to more consumers. We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with Caltex to develop this app for all major smartphone platforms - it really shows how they value their customers regardless of what devices they carry." said Rafis Kadir, Regional Director of MEC Interaction.
