MEC hires award-winning digital lead

MEC, a leading media agency, today announced the appointment of Gian LaVecchia as Managing Partner, Digital Lead, effective immediately.

He will report to Jack Bamberger, President of Digital for MEC North America. In this role, Gian will be responsible for developing digital strategies and innovative solutions for many MEC clients to reach audiences across the evolving media landscape.

Prior to joining MEC, Gian served as EVP of Digital Media at Story Worldwide; one of the world’s leading independent agencies. In his leadership role, Gian focused his efforts on growing Story Media; an independent unit focused on providing innovative digital media strategy, planning and buying services, branded content development and distribution solutions, social media strategy and emerging media expertise.

Before his post at Story, Gian served as SVP/Group Media Director: Digital Media, Branded Content & Social Media for Publicis Modem. At Modem, Gian led major client assignments and developed a number of award-winning digital media experiences for brands including SUBWAY, Heineken, Kraft and Dice, among others. Earlier in his career, he was one of the first members of MSN's Branded Content and Experiences Team, an industry-lauded group focused on creating best-in-class branded content, distribution and measurement solutions for some of the world's largest and most recognized brands.

Gian graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA with a degree in economics. Throughout his career he has won industry awards including Webby’s, OMMA Awards, Ad:tech Awards and IAB Mixx Awards.
