Currently Global Chief Operating Officer, Alastair will retain his global responsibilities and become Chairman of EMEA in order to oversee a reorganisation of the region's management structure. Charles Courtier, Global Chief Executive Officer of Mediaedge:cia, said: "Over the past five years we have seen extraordinary growth and momentum in all areas of our organisation.  In the current climate we must ensure that we remain commercially fit; remain absolutely client centric; and ensure that we deliver a fully integrated product to our clients, fused with digital.  Our success is attributable to the extraordinary talent we have in the business, such as Mel and Caroline, and I have no doubt that they will be instrumental in achieving our future ambitions."

Commentating on Alastair's role: "EMEA is economically the most challenging region in the world  currently.   As our global COO, Alastair Aird is one of our most senior and talented executives and it's right that we focus our best global talent on areas of our business that need the most attention," said Charles.  As Chairman of EMEA, Alastair will lead the region through this difficult period."

The latest developments at MEC come on the back of a raft of major global and local client wins including Activision (global), Mercedes (Germany), Sony  Electronics (Latin America) and Singapore Airlines (global).
